Dr Prasad Sawadkar

Founder and CEO

Dr Prasad Sawadkar is a tissue engineer, regenerative medicine scientist, and entrepreneur specialising in biomaterials, wound healing, tissue regeneration, and translational healthcare innovation. He has led multidisciplinary programmes in wound healing, tissue regeneration, extracellular matrix engineering, breast reconstruction, and organ bioengineering. Dr Sawadkar has secured over £1 million in competitive research funding, authored more than 35 peer-reviewed publications, and contributed to the development of multiple patented technologies.

As Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dermomat, he leads the company's scientific vision, product development, strategic partnerships, and commercial growth. His mission is to advance next-generation regenerative biomaterials that improve healing outcomes, reduce the burden of chronic wounds, and deliver meaningful benefits to patients and healthcare systems worldwide.

 Dr Ferdinand Lali

Dr Ferdinand Lali

Chief Scientific Officer 

Dr Ferdinand Lali is an immunologist, regenerative medicine scientist, and translational research leader with more than 25 years of experience in wound healing, tissue regeneration, angiogenesis, inflammation, and biomaterial biocompatibility. His work has focused on advancing regenerative therapies and translating scientific discoveries into clinically relevant healthcare solutions.

As Chief Scientific Officer of Dermomat, Dr Lali leads the company's scientific strategy, research and development activities, and preclinical validation programmes. He oversees the evaluation of tissue regeneration, angiogenesis, immune responses, and biomaterial performance, ensuring that product development is underpinned by robust scientific evidence and aligned with clinical needs.

Prof Steve Jeffery

Plastic Surgeon

Prof Steven Jeffery is a burns and plastic surgeon with an interest in all kinds of wounds. He is Professor of Wound study at Birmingham City University, Chief Medical Officer of the Pioneer Wound Healing and Lymphoedema Centres and is an Internal Clinician for BSI.

Prof Suwan Jayasinghe

Scientific Adviser

Suwan N. Jayasinghe currently holds a Chair in Bioengineering, in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University College London. His group has made several discoveries having significance to advanced bioanalysis and diagnostics to tissue engineering and regenerative/therapeutic biology and medicine. These pioneering investigations are currently undergoing intense exploration for their exploitation in the clinic for repairing, replacing and rejuvenating damaged and/or ageing tissues/organs.

Prof- Karin Greco

International Scientific Adviser

Prof Karin Greco is an internationally recognised scientist with over 20 years of experience in biomaterials, tissue engineering and translational medicine. Her expertise spans chronic wound management, biologically active dressings, skin implant biomaterials, scaffold engineering and advanced manufacturing technologies.

She has successfully translated research into clinical and regulatory pathways, working closely with both the MHRA and FDA to advance innovative medical technologies. Her work has resulted in five patents and licensed technologies that bridge laboratory discovery and clinical application.
 

 Dr Kapil Dev Patel

 

Dr Kapil Dev Patel

International Scientific Adviser

Dr Kapil D. Patel is a biomaterials and tissue engineering scientist with expertise in regenerative medicine, advanced biomaterials and 3D bioprinting. He is currently a Research Fellow at the Australian National University, Australia, where his research focuses on developing functional nanobiomaterials for tissue repair and regeneration.

His work spans 3D bioprinting, redox-active nanomaterials, tissue engineering and cancer theranostics, with a strong emphasis on translating innovative biomaterial technologies into clinical
